New Year's Resolutions

I am not one for making New Year's Resolutions. Never have. I guess I feel like people often set lofty goals that by the end of January, have gone by the wayside. Instead, I just try to better myself throughout the year. This past year, I successfully made an effort to change my eating habits by adding more fish to my diet (namely Salmon) and even less processed food. I also tried to better myself by helping the poor.

However, this year I have decided to make an actual resolution. My resolution is very hard to put into words but it has to do with setting boundaries for myself with other people. Sometimes tend to give too much to the wrong people. I also want to read more about Mother Teresa--an inspirational woman--and try to model her behavior by continuing to help with the poor.

What are your thoughts on resolutions? Have you made a resolution? What is it? Please make sure you comment as I am curious (you don't have to sign up for an account--you can post anonymously).

I agree with you! It is hard to predict an entire year in January, which means it is nearly impossible to draft resolutions for a twelve month period. Life changes, and so do goals; and if we reflect on our lives on a daily basis, then we are more apt to create individual goals that will really work.

Moreover, when I reach the end of the day, I am happy about some aspects of my life and unhappy about others, but if I try to resolve one facet at a time, I feel like I am accomplishing something.

So, here's to a new year and new resolutions -- and like everything else, just take it one day at a time.
