Product Review: Duraflame Stax logs

With the cold start to winter we have had,  I am so excited that I was offered the opportunity to review the new Duraflame Stax logs.  What makes these logs different from the other Duraflame logs is that they have the aesthetics and crackling sounds of a wood fire!  But, unlike building a wood fire, the Stax fire just takes minutes to build--without the mess of firewood!  This is really exciting to me because I have a fire place in my bedroom and I don't like to use it because of the mess from the front door, up the stairs, and through the hall to my bedroom.  But with the Duraflame Stax Logs, the mess is eliminated as well as the smoky smell of natural fires.  After all, my closet is right next to the fireplace and who wants their clothes to smell smoky?

These logs are easy to use--open your flu, place two Stax logs in and X-formation in the center of your fireplace grate with seams out.  Make sure the top log angles to the back (in case it rolls).  Light and voila!  A wonderful fire!  Wait about 2 hours before adding another log.  Here is a video to demonstrate:

Here is our fire on Christmas Eve.
Here is the same fire, an hour later without adding anything more.  (The girls were nestled, all snug in their beds while visions of sugar plums danced in their heads at this time.  You will notice that the stockings have been hung with care.)  The fire is still burning strong!

We really enjoyed this fire and although it wasn't quite like a fire with wood, it was pretty darn close!
