Why I Don't Eat Fast Foods

People look at me strangely when I say we don't really eat fast food.  Sure, there is the occassion when we do, but it is rare.  And yes, like most parents,  my children beg me daily to stop at the Wendy's when we drive by it.

Constantly, the news is reporting how unhealthy fast food is for you.  Surely, those chicken nuggets can't really be that bad for you, outside the fact they are deep fried, can they? 

Well, it depends upon how you define "chicken."  If your definition of chicken includes seven ingredients, some of which are made up of yet even more ingredients, and the breading has over 20 ingredients, I'd say you are looking more at a chemical disaster than chicken nuggets.  Which is what you get at most fast food restaurants.  Making chicken nuggets at home would include just a few ingredients at most, starting with chicken, not chicken plus a bunch of other stuff that does who knows what to your body.  Even Wendy's Frostys contain 14 ingredients!  What?  In a milkshake?

So, before you run through the drive through, think about what you are putting in your body.  Do you want to add a bunch of chemical or do you want good, nutritious food?

I agree, we very rarely eat fast food. I have this whole aversion to eating something that someone else has good. We harldy go out to Restaraunt either. My kids hate it, they beg and every once in a great while I will stop but on often. I also don't buy alot of processed or freezer foods either. I love to cook and believe it or not they will beg for a corn dog or hot pockets but that doesn't happen too often either.
