Ecostore Plant-based Products--Review

I am always looking for easy ways to be greener, while still getting the job done right.  I make my own conncotions that do a good job, but not great.  It would be easier if I could just buy products that work and get the job done right.  When ecostore contacted me and asked if I would like to review their products, I was happy to give them a try.  I had been reading about them around the web, but still had some lingering doubts about how well the products worked.

Ecostore is an extension of a 20 year old New Zealand company that makes plant based, non-toxic Household Cleaning, Baby and Personal Care Products that contain No Nasty Chemicals™ (click on the link for more details).  Your family’s health is a priority to the team at ecostore USA. They produce a large variety of eco-friendlier products that range from kitchen/bath cleaners, to baby, pet and personal care items that are better for the earth, and for your health.
When my package came, I was smiling right off the bat.  The packaging "peanuts" were made out of soy and the news print, packaging tape and even the box were all made out of recycleable paper!  (And of course, it will all be recycled from my house.)  So far, so good.  This came at the perfect time--a day where I needed to clean and do laundry!  First, I started with the Toilet Cleaner.  I squirted some in my toilet bowl.  I liked the fresh clean scent of it.  My toilet was pretty dirty so this was a real test of how good this stuff works.  I was very pleasantly pleased!  My toilet sparkled!  Unlike other chemical cleaners, Ecostore's toilet cleaner is safe for the waterways, too!
Then the laundry test.  I tried the Liquid Laundry.  I was surpised by the tiny bottle, but it is super concentrated and you jsut have to use a tiny amount in your wash cycle.  As I poured it in, once again, I was pleased with the scent.  It smelled fresh with a eucalyptus scent.    What's nice is that it is plant based, too, leaving no chemical residue behind.  As I was throwing clothing in the washer, I noticed a pair of my daughter's old jeans that had mud ground into the seat and knees along with a grass stain.  Even though they really needed to be pre-treated, soaked and scrubbed, I went ahead and threw them in, figuring that I would loosen up the dirt on them and pull them out after the wash cycle and soak them.  When I was putting clothes in the dryer, I pulled the jeans out to set aside.  I looked at them.  No mud stains.  No grass stains.  What????  Seriously, the jeans were clean!  I was AMAZED!  After taking the clothes from the dryer, they felt very soft, as if I had used fabric softener.
Stop by ecostore and read more about their products.  I am sure you will find something you like.  When looking at cost and sizes, please remember that their products are super concentrated so a little bit really goes a long, long way.  I know I will be purchasing more of these products in the future!
