Mudworks Book Giveaway--Perfect Activities for Summer Fun!

Once again, I feel priviledged to be able to offer my readers another giveaway from my absolute favorite children's art author, MaryAnn Kohl. She has written numerous art books for children, including Mudworks, Primary Art, Preschool Art and more. I love her books because they are full of great ideas using ordinary household items.  I also love that she stresses "it is the process not product" which shifts the focus of art to enjoying what happens while making art rather than the final product, which can open the doors to creativity.

With summer coming up and kids out of school, this is the perfect time to get your hands on one of MaryAnn's books.  There are so many great activities that kids are sure to have a fun summer creating!  Also, if you are a homeschooling mom (as I am soon to become) her activities are wonderful!

If you want to learn more about MaryAnn and her books, be sure to visit her sight at http://www.brightring.com/. Here you can find out all about her books, free art activities, cool links and more.

Giveaway
Now for the good stuff.  MaryAnn has offered a copy the bi-lingual edition of Mudworks. This book contains fifty of the "best squishy kid-tested projects capture the imagination of children, parents, teachers, and child-care professionals with English and Spanish translations on every page."  Just perfect for summer break!

Contest is open to US residents only. Contest will end on June 1, 2010 at 11:59pm EST. Winner must leave a viable way for me to contact you.  A winner will be chosen using Random.org.  I will email the winner and winner must contact me within 48 hours with their contact information.

To enter:

I keep a supply of art and craft material at the house for when the grand kids come and visit. We paint, color, make bread dough items, paint ceramics, do sand art and oh so many wonderful things. This is the best time, lots of messy hands, faces and lots of smiles as they create, your should also hear the conversation sometimes.... I learn so much about their school mates be just listening... they make me laugh..

Nanbon, you are the perfect grandma! I wish my daughters would bring ME some little grans. I'm sure it will happen sooner or LATER. I hope I'm not too old to do all the fun stuff you are doing! LOL.

We are actually moving this summer so crafts are going to be tough.. However,I am hoping to take photos of the trip (places, car time, hotels, the new house) and then let the kids make a photo collage. I think they will have fun and what great memories... weeshenanigans (at) gmail (doT) com

We are fortunate enough to have a great organization nearby, "The Art House". they always have great classes going on for both children, teens, and adults. Every month, they have a "Clay Day" on a Saturday where you can purchase a bunch of clay for like $3 and there are people there to help with the shaping and the firing and glazing. We go every month. This book fits right in to that and could be something we could do together at home!

I am going to be tiedying t-shirts with the kids and their friends in a couple of days. We will then wear them whenever we go on outings to be better able to keep tabs on everyone. Fun activity and then useful also.

I'm the mom of 3 boys, my oldest is autistic. I never seem to have ideas for doing things with him and my toddler (my youngest is only 3 months old!). So I would like to win this to give me some ideas of things to do with them that may also help with my oldest's sensory issues. Thanks for a chance to win.
