Book Review: God's Promises for Girls

God's Promises for Girls by Jack Countryman and Amy Parker is an adorable book that is a must have for every young lady.  The small size and beautiful illustrations are perfect for little hands and little eyes, but that is not even the best part.  The best part is the content which features God's Promises about so many things, using easy-to-understand scriptural quotes brokent into various topics ranging from telling the truth to being a good sport to what God wants us to do.  His promises are broken into various categories for quick reference for the right scripture for the moment.  Some of my favorites are promises when you are angry, need forgiveness, praying for your family, being a better friend, serving others and using your gifts for God.

My daughters, ages 3 and 6, both love this book and are eager for me to read out of it.  In fact, if I set it down, my 6 year old takes off with it and I find it bookmarked in her room later.  I can see this book as appealing for the very young to about age 11.  Above age 11, even though the content would be appropriate, I think the pictures would be considered too juvenile.

This hardcover book is published by Tommy Nelson and can be purchased from Amazon for $10.39 with FREE super saver shipping on orders over $25.
