10 Great Uses for Vaseline Petroleum Jelly

Sometimes, the oldest, most basic, inexpensive things in life are the best things.  Take Vaseline Petroleum Jelly.  It has been around forever.  Well, not exactly forever, but 140 years now!  They are celebrating in a big way, too, with 140 Great Uses for Vaseline.  They have teamed up with Twittermoms to have a fun blogging contest asking people to share 10 great uses for Vaseline.  Not hard for me at all!
1.      With the dry winter air setting in, chapped lips are a big problem.  I like to use a soft toothbrush to gently exfoliate my lips and then rub Vaseline in.  My lips feel so soft and supple!
2.      Hands—my hands are always drying out as I wash them a lot.  My solution was handed down to me from my mother.  Rub Vaseline in and put on a pair of light cotton gloves for the night.  You will have soft, smooth hands in the morning.
3.      Rough, dry feet?  Break out the Vaseline and cotton socks and leave on overnight.  I have read a lot of models use this as well.
4.      My husband uses Vaseline on his feet when running marathons to keep from getting blisters.
5.     When paining windows, first dip a cotton swab in Vaseline and run it around the edges of the glass.  If you get paint on it, it will just wipe away.  This also works when painting around door knobs, hinges, etc.
6.      Use it on shower rods or metal curtain rods to keep curtains sliding easily.
7.      Prevent hair coloring from dying your skin by rubbing Vaseline along the hairline prior to coloring.
8.      Use Vaseline to remove eye makeup…or Halloween makeup.
9.      Need a quick shine for your shoes?  Vaseline can shine them up in no time.
10.   I like to use with lipstick to keep my lips from drying out.  You get the added benefit of shine, too!

There are so many more uses from babies bottoms to tool lubricants to plumbing that I am sure there are way more than 140 great uses for Vaseline.  What are some of your favorite uses?
