Week Three Dial Healthier You--Skin Care

Ok, I warned you!  I am catching up with my diary.  Week Three of Dial's Healthier You is all about skin care.  Of course, sunblock tops the list.  Most dermatologists recommend sunblock for preventing skin cancers and premature aging.  Of course, when I was younger, I was a sun worshiper.  Since I didn't burn, I didn't use much sunblock, not even while living in Florida.  However as I got older and wiser, I began using sunscreen when going to the pool or being outdoors for most of the day.  This past year, I had a dysplastic nevus removed.  That is a mole that is sort of suspicious and may or may not turn into cancer.  But with my family history of skin cancer, it made me start slapping on sunblock every morning after I shower and then more if I was going to spend any amount of time outdoors.  Your face is especially important and I use a 70 sunblock under my make up to keep my skin from aging any more than it already has.  The sunblock in your make up (if you have it) usually only provides minimum protection--like SPF 15.

When it comes to skin care, you want to use a cleanser that is right for your skin that doesn't strip it of necessary oils and moisture.  Some body washes, like  Dial NutriSkin, will allow you to cleanse and moisturize in just one step.  If you want to add additional moisturizer, like I do, do it right after you shower.  I mean right after--while your skin is still damp to lock in the moisture.  I have been doing this and my skin looks great!
