Week Two Dial Healthier You--Exercise

Did you know that exercise is not only good for preventing heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers but is also good for your skin?  Exercise can keep your complexion healthy and and radiant as it promotes circulation.  Circulation carries oxygen to your skin and other vital organs. And sweating is also a good thing--it flushes out dirt and debris from your pores making your skin glow!

Week two of Dial's Healthier You is all about exercise.  They encourage you to start by walking 45-60 minutes a day.  Let's get this out in the open.  Hardly anyone has time to exercise.  This is really a not--most everyone I know has time to watch TV, play games on the computer, go out with friends, etc.  How is it we have time for those things but not to exercise?  The difference is that we schedule those things.  We plan on sitting down at 8pm and watching our favorite show.  We plan on going shopping with friends.  Exercise is the same way.  It is important to make time to exercise.  Plan it, write it on your your calendar and you are more likely to do it. 

In my case, I plan on working out at the gym 3 days a week for about 45 minutes to an hour after I pick my daughter up from preschool.  But, now that my kids are a bit older and I am hitting middle age, I am trying to take things up a notch.  Yesterday wasn't too awfully cold, so I grabbed the girls and the dog and we went for a 20 minute walk.  Granted, it wasn't quite as fast as I'd like it to be with the girls in tow, but it was something.  Then, I played Wii Active Life Explorer for 40 minutes with the girls and got a bit more exercise time in.

Today is Wednesday.  Although my sinuses are a mess, I will still be hitting the Y and trying to sweat it out a bit!  I will keep you updated on my progress!
