Crab of the Day--How Rude!

Today, my family and I attended Peter Pan Jr. at the Children's Theater of Cincinnati.  This is a wonderful theater which seeks to introduce quality productions to children.  As usual, this was a wonderful production!  However, I was distracted the entire show by two women who sat next to me who conversed through most of the show.  Several times, I shushed them or leaned over and looked and cleared my throat at them when they started up their chatter.  It didn't seem to help much.  If they weren't chatting, they were texting.  This is also annoying when you are in a dark theater.

By the end of the show, I was very irritated.  As we left, I leaned over towards the well dressed women and said, "I really came to hear the show, not your chatter throughout the show."  One of the women glared at me and said, "This is a children's theater," as if it gave permission for her to talk throughout the show.  I commented that she is an adult, not a child.  They then proceeded to tell me that I was the rudest woman they had ever met and that I should have sat somewhere else if it bothered me.  I guess they were too busy talking when they announced that it was a sold out show.

I was amazed.  Their behavior was not only rude and disruptive to those around them, it was inconsiderate to the performers.  Oh, and not to mention the example they set for their own children!

What has happened to respect and common courtesy in this world?

I hate when this happens. I recently saw a movie and was distracted by all the phones out around me and the kids running wild in the aisles so their parents could watch. Sorry for your bad experience.
