Saving on Water Bills

I just read in the paper tlast week that our sanitation bill is going up another $10 a month.  That is on top of the two water bills I get--one for the city and one for the county.  Ugh!  Just another good reason to conserve water!

Of course, the first reason to conserve water is to save our natural resources.  There is something I do to conserve water that even made my mother say, "I can't believe I never thought of that."  I keep a ceramic pitcher or small watering can next to the kitchen sink.  If I need hot water, instead of letting water run down the drain till it is hot, I save it in the watering can.  If I have been thawing meat or fish in a pan of water, I don't dump it down the drain, I save it.  Leftover ice from drinks gets dumped in the pitcher.  Then, I use this water on house plants or outdoor potted plants.

Be kind to our planet!  Conserve water!

That's a great idea. If I had plants I would do it. LOL... I have one that I'm trying to decide if I want to re-pot and keep it. I was also thinking about getting a fern. I just haven't felt like taking care of anything or anyone else. Yes, saving our resources can be easy with some small changes.
