Airing My Laundry

No--I am not going to air my dirty laundry--just the clean stuff.  I have been pestering my husband for a few years about getting some sort of clothesline up.  Since my laundry room is off my kitchen, and it and my deck are a full story up, walking down the narrow, steep deck stairs with a full load of wet clothes didn't seem that appealing.  I finally thought that maybe if we had a line or a clothes drying rack on the deck, it would be more viable.  So, one day we bought a clothes drying rack at a hardware store and an umbrella stand to hold it up.  Concept good, but product quality very poor (made in China).  So, my husband ordered the mac daddy of all clothes drying racks from G&G Industries.  This is super heavy duty--I think it might just withstand hurriedness strength winds. It will do the trick.

And now I am airing my laundry.  The sun naturally whitens the whites the green way.  Clothes dry without any or minimal electricity (I do fluff some in the dryer for a few minutes).  No need for whiteners fabric softeners or dryer sheets to eliminate static electricity (there is none).  Clothing lasts longer because it is not abused by the heat of a dryer.  Best of all, clothes smell AWESOME with freshness that you cannot capture in a bottle.  Is it more work for me?  Yes, a bit, but knowing I am helping the earth, saving on my electric bills (and laundry aids) and having fresh smelling clothing makes it all worth it.

Love the smell of laundry after hanging.. I get laundry done so much quicker on warm days.

I want one of those! I love drying clothes outside, too.
