My Challenge for the Day

I actually made it to the gym today after being off at the beginning of the week.  Yep, Monday I could barely move (I suffer from a back injury from an auto-accident in 1997).  I think the pain index must have been high and when I rolled out of bed in the morning, I nearly rolled to the floor because of the pain.  The hot shower didn't help nor an hour of yoga.  But today I was feeling much better and made it to the gym to workout.  Of course, I ran into some workout buddies today and was put to the challenge of doing a chin up.  My--I haven't done one of those in over 20 years.  Initially, I didn't accept the challenge.  But then, it became more of a challenge to myself and I went over to the bar, stood on my tip-toes to reach it.  I grabbed a hold of it and pulled myself up.  I did it!  Woo hoo!  I will have to say, I impressed myself because I really didn't think I would be able to do it.

I am also happy that my knee seems to have healed up (I was off it for a couple weeks) and I hit the sidewalks this evening and put in my four miles.  So, right now, I am feeling pretty darn good for my fitness accomplishments!
