Duraflame--Review and $5,000 Contest for Starting Something Good

I love having a fire.  But we have all been there--the fire that won't start.  Or won't stay lit.  I tried the Duraflame Gold Fire Log when we had in-laws in to celebrate Christmas.  This is a specially formulated log to produce the biggest, brightest flames for the longest duration.  This was truly a hassle-free fire!

I really like these logs because they are made with 100% renewable resources and they burn cleaner than wood.  The largest log is 7lbs. and last over 4 hours.  We threw it in the fireplace and had a nice, steady fire all evening.  It was great!

I also liked that I didn't have any mess from the outside to the fireplace of bits of wood.  We just opened it and put it in with no mess.  These will be perfect for my bedroom fireplace!

Right now, Duraflame is holding a givewawy for a season's supply of Duraflame logs.  You can visit http://www.duraflame.com to enter the contest.  While you are there, make sure to print off some coupons!  Good-luck!

They also have another contest;  the 1,000 Ways to Start Something Good Contest.  In this contest, you can win $5,000!  To enter, you need to submit a photo, video or story on Duraflame's Facebook page that describes how you have started something good in one of two categories.

  • Good Experiences--share a story about your perfect experience around the fire with friends, family or other loved ones.
  • Good Environment--share a story about how you did something good for the environment.
Winners are selected based upon votes on Duraflame's Facebook page.  Contest runs through February 29, 2012.

Disclosure:  I received a duraflame fire log to facilitate this review.  I was not compensated for this post.  This post contains my honest opinion.
