Rock 'N Learn Earth Science DVD -- Discount Code for Rock N Learn

Somewhere along the way, someone decided if something was educational, it could not be fun.  But Rock 'N Learn has brought fun to learning.  And if children are having fun, they are more likely to learn.  That's why I love the Rock n Learn DVDs.  Kids have fun watching them.

I recently watched the Rock 'N Learn Earth Science DVD with my children.  This is a great DVD that is geared towards children from 3rd-8th grade.  It is very detailed and covers the following topics:
  • The Solar System
  • How Earth's Orbit Causes the Seasons
  • The Water Cycle
  • What Causes Weather?
  • Sedimentary Rocks and Fossils
  • Igneous and Metamorphic Rocks
  • Color, Luster, Hardness, and Streak
  • Topography and Volcanoes
  • Plate Tectonics
  • Energy and Resources
  • Alternative Energy and Conservation

In this award winning video, we meet Kevin, who loves taking science tests because he knows how to become prepared for the tests.  He is joined by an animated globe (Terra) and Marko (a pencil) who "know a thing or two about earth science."

This video gets very detailed about each of the subjects.  Following the video topics is a bonus section that contains a practice Earth Science test.  They also give information to find a website to download free study materials.

The video can be used as an introduction to the different topics or used to teach more difficult topics.  It can also be used as an aid to prepare children for state mandated testing as it has been correlated to the National Science Education Standards.

When I asked my daughter her thoughts about the video, she replied, "I love it!"  When I asked why, she enthusiastically stated, "It is fun!"  As a mom, I loved that my children are watching something educational and learning from it.  I love this video and have incorporated it into my homeschooling lessons.
