My Experience: Sleep Number Bed

My husband and I are in the market for a new mattress.  He was all for the memory foam mattress, till we heard it can be hot.  We both like it to be cold at night.  Very cold.  So any mattress that makes us hot is not something we want to consider.  So, last night we visited the Sleep Number Store at the mall.  The salesman, John, was very nice and well prepared to tell us all about the beds.  He did a computerized demo that showed the pressure points of our body on the mattress.  He played around with the bed to find the number that was right for each of us (35 and 40).  I could immediately tell a difference in the support I had from lying on the Sleep Number bed with the correct setting than I can from our good mattress.

There are a variety of mattress tops including a foam top.  My husband really liked that one, but probably because of my weight, I didn't sink it down enough to get the support I wanted.  However, the foam does have a cooling gel in it and it did not feel hot in the least.  I preferred one of the pillow tops that added to my support for my lower back.

I also love the fact that you can get the option to raise and lower the head and foot of the bed, which is awesome for when we read in the bed.  In addition, as a sufferer of silent GERD, I can adjust the head of the bed up to prevent symptoms.

Anyway, we did really like these mattresses.  I think it will make a huge difference in how we will feel in the morning.  They have a fabulous warranty of 20 years, which is way more than I have ever had on a mattress.  Even though we can't buy it right away, I know it is the mattress we will buy within the next year.

Stop by a sleep number store and see what your number is!

Disclosure:  I visited the Sleep Number Store as a mission with Smiley360 and may win a pillow.  I was not required to blog about this.  The opinions expressed in this post are my own honest opinions.
