Book Review: For My Children
How well do we really know our mothers? Unfortunately, we have only known our mothers to be just that, mother. But, if we stop to think about it, we know our mother's are so much more than Mom. But we usually are too busy to think about questions to ask our mothers. I know that I want my kids to know me are more than just mom. I want them to understand that I have dreams, aspirations, advice, favorite quotes memories and so forth. Especially as they become adults themselves.
For My Children, A Mother's Journal of Memories, Wishes and Wisdom by Dionna Ford is a wonderful journal for sharing with children about life. There are many sections, including Motherhood, Children, Family and Home, Life Wisdom and Wishes, Love and Relationships On Being You and You in the World. Each page has a writing prompt, such as:
I love this journal! It is beautiful and simple. Completing a page here and there wouldn't take long but the information learned from the answers would become treasured. The only things I don't like about the book are that not all the pages are lined. I think it looks great, but I really need lines! The other thing is the paper. It is a nice, quality paper, but is slightly glossy and I am afraid that some pens might smudge. I would have preferred a more matte finish. But, that is me and I am picky! I definitely wouldn't let this stop you from purchasing this wonderful journal, though!
Right now, you can purchase this book at Amazon for just $10.17--just click the picture below. This would make an awesome gift for mom or for yourself. It would also be a nice baby shower gift for the soon-to-be mom.
