Love the Moment in Virginia Beach #momsloveabeach

I love the beach.  The warm sun, cool breeze, sand between the toes, seagulls calling.  I love it all.  I even love the salt water.  It feels so good and relaxing.  One beach I really want to visit is Virginia Beach.   It is the type of beach where you can “Love the Moment.”  In fact, I can think of many ways to Love the Moment in Virginia Beach.

First off is the beach itself.  Virginia Beach’s coastline, including the Chesapeake Bay, Sandbridge, and the Resort Area, has a total of 35 miles of beautiful beaches!  And there is a variety of beaches for everyone—whether you are looking for peace and quiet or want to be in the middle of all the action.  I think I would like the serene Chesapeake Beach along the Chesapeake Bay.  The bay is protected and the water is shallow, so it seems like it would be a good spot for young children.  It also is a great place for campers and seeing how we love to camp, I can’t think of a better place!  The Sandbridge area also seems nice—no hotels, just condos, so it is a little less commercial.  And if you want to be in the heart of it all, the Resort Area is where it is happening!  Live music, street performers, restaurants and three miles of boardwalk goes hand and hand with beach culture.  The boardwalk is great for a stroll, however, it is also wonderful for biking, roller-blading and running.

And the climate is great in Virginia Beach.  With average summertime temps between 82-87 degrees for highs and 67-72 for lows, it is perfect beach weather.

Virginia Beach is also very kid friendly.  Besides the beach, there are tons of activities to occupy everyone in the family.  The Virginia Aquarium is a place that I know my family would love to check out.  With over 300 species of animals, we are sure to see something new!  They even have  touch pool, which is really fascinating as you can actually touch some of the sea creatures while learning about them.

You could also visit the First Landing State Park, which offers boating, swimming, hiking, camping, and more.  It looks like a beautiful park.  Or maybe you want to climb to the top of Old Cape Henry Lighthouse next to the first landing site of the Jamestown settlers, bringing American History to light.  There is also Ocean Breeze Waterpark to visit for a fun-filled water day.

Pier fishing, kayaking with dolphins, parasailing, boating, deep sea fishing…the list of things to do to “Love the Moment” in Virginia Beach is endless!
