There is something you can have in your arsenal to combat this. Something that can be used alone, with a friend or even in a group. And that something is puzzle books. The Complete Idiot's Guide to Picture Puzzles, Vol. 2 is a fun book that even a five year old can enjoy. But don't let that dissuade you--it is fun for kids of all ages (even grown ones) to spot the differences in two pictures. You can just play by yourself, be timed or race against a friend to find the number of differences.
Then there is Puzzle Baron's Sudoku. This book is sure to provide hours of brain-challenging fun. This book is filled with 400 different sudoku games and their answers.
