Money Saving Tip for the Kitchen

Back-to-school lists that included paper towels quickly reminded me of a money-saving tip for the kitchen.  We rarely use paper towels.  Instead, I have a stash of rags in a drawer to quickly wipe up spills on the floor.  For counter spills, I have dish cloths available.  It took my husband, who used to think paper towels grew on trees (yeah, yeah, I know--they sort of do), to come around, but now, he rarely goes for a paper towel.  Granted, there are times when I do use a paper towel, but mainly when cooking something and I want to place it on a paper towel to absorb the grease.  But outside of that, I don't touch paper towels.  Even as a bit of a germaphobe (just a bit), I use as many dish cloths as needed.  After all, they can be washed in hot water!

The next thing I am off to is cloth napkins...
