But the show is, gosh, I don't even know if there are words to describe it, but trashy, repulsive and disgusting are as close as I can get. In the couple minutes that I watched it, I saw this 6 year old rolling around in mud (all that was going through my mind was bacteria, fecal matter, etc.) and people tubing through mud on a 4-wheeler. Then, the little six-year-old sneezes. She doesn't sneeze into her elbow or hands, but just sits there and leans forward while two enormous snot strings fall from her nose, making no attempt to wipe it.
The lack of respect and manners these people have is amazing. Not to mention that their house looks like it is falling down around them, yet they have plenty of money to put their six-year-old in beauty pageants?
Okay, people can do what they want to have fun. But, my question is this--who really wants to watch this show? And why? Has our country stooped so low that we just sit back and ridicule the way people live (although I suspect they are ramping things up for the show)?
I used to watch TLC--when it truly was a learning channel. Now, it is just a trash channel. With quality TV like this, it is no wonder our country is in such a mess.
Have you seen the show? What are your thoughts?

I'm not sure of the reason why America has an obsession with trashy t.v., but it speaks volumes about our culture as a whole, and I don't think it speaks well of us.
I have not seen it! I dont think i could watch the show. Its another trashy show!
I saw it when I stumbled on it like you did. It's like a train wreck that you can't turn away from. You watch for a bit and then shake your head and walk away. I agree that TLC is no longer a learning channel. I could make a list of trash tv a mile long with at least half of them being "reality" shows. It's sad that this is what so many younger people want to watch :(
I have not watched it, but I'm sure it can't be any trashier than The Kardashians (which I "accidentally" watched once). All reality TV is ridiculous.
