New to Blu-Ray and DVD Today: COPPER!

Have you watched COPPER yet?  It is a BBC America original drama and has become the channel's highest rated series premiere ever.  The series follows Detective Kevin Corcoran--an Irish immigrant police officer in the 1860s--who is driven by the murder of his daughter and the disappearance of his wife, Corcoran strives for justice for the weak in a NYC immigrant neighborhood. Surprisingly, his investigations often lead to the doorsteps of the elite citizens of Fifth Avenue.

Filled mystery, corruption, murder and intrigue, this series has been described as "powerful" by the Wall Street Journal and the Boston Globe exclaims, "COPPER casts a spell."

The series is created by Emmy-winner Tom Fontana (Homicide: Life on the Street, Oz and Borgia) and is produced by Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson (remember Good Morning Viet Nam and Rain Man?) as well as Will Rokos (Academy Award nominee) and Chineflix Studios President Christina Wayne (Mad Men).

Bonus Features Include:
  • Talent Commentary On Select Episodes
  • Deleted Scenes
  • “Making of” Documentary
  • Character Video Profiles and Featurettes

Missed it?  Make sure you catch it on Blu-Ray or DVD just released today!  Amazon has it half off today--just $24.99!

Disclosure:  I received a copy of this DVD in hopes I would share information about this series.

My supervisor at DISH used to live in New York and from the stories he has told me it was much worse in the 1860’s then it is right now. In other words, Copper seems like it has more then enough corruption to keep me entertained! I think the murder and mystery will just be a plus. Either way I will be finding out tonight. I can never find a moment to go to the store and pick out DVD’s, but since I started renting from Blockbuster at Home through DISH the movies are already waiting in my mailbox when I get off work.
