3 Strands Freedom, Love and Empowerment from Sex Trafficking

When I learned about 3Strands, I knew I had to blog about it.  3Strands is a fashion brand fighting for a cause--to end sex trafficking around the world by supporting agencies such as Agape International Missions (AIM).  Each 3Strands bracelet and gift box is handmade and the money from its sales help empower, teach and employ young women who have been rescued from the horror of sex trafficking.

Each cotton-wax bracelet, handmade by a victim of sex trafficking, is symbolic. The three cords represent freedom, love and empowerment, braided together and not easily broken.  A signle red string, barely visible, represents the souls of these women.  Women who have been pretty much invisible to those who bought and sold them in the past.  Each bracelet also has one red seed from the ugly pods of Sandlewood trees.  In Cambodia, these ugly seed pods dry up and fall to the ground, unnoticed and trampled upon only for a beautiful red seed to emerge.  These seeds represent the beauty of these women that goes unnoticed.

AIM manages the training center and creates beautiful jewelry and apparel designs and 3Strands purchases the products to distribute to Apricot Lane, a chain of franchised women's boutiques as well as online.

These are really very lovely bracelets.  They come in a small, brightly colored, woven box, which is beautiful itself.  The bracelets come in a variety of colors.  They are very well made--definitely strong and beautiful, as are the women who made them.  In addition to being able to order by size (small/large) you also have a choice of two places to button close.  This is especially nice for me as I have small wrists (even my daughters can wear them).  The button is lovely--a nice metal with the words freedom, empowerment and love encircling the number 3.  Like the women, the red thread is not visible.  But wearing the bracelet is a visible reminder to me of the evil in the world and to pray for these women.

I especially like the Pink Room designs.  The pink is a beautiful strong pink and the 100% of the proceeds help victims.  This is a perfect gift for Valentine's Day!

Supporting women by being fashionable--gotta love it!

sex trafficking is something I don't think about too least not until I read a post like this.
It happens more than any of us would like to think about.
