Enchanted Forest Spring Show at #Krohn Conservatory #Cincinnati @cincyparks

I am so sick of winter, I could pull my hair out.  I am tired of seeing gray and brown.  After six straight days of no sunshine, I knew we needed to do something.  Something that would brighten our moods.  So, we decided to visit the Krohn Conservatory.

The Krohn Conservatory is part of the Cincinnati Parks.  Generally, admission is free (a donation is nice), but there is a charge associated with special events, such as the annual Butterfly Show.  Today, however, was the Enchanted Forest Spring Show.  This is the spring floral show--just what my family needed on this dreary winter day!

The show room was transformed into a spring woodland with gorgeous hyacinths, tulips, daffodils, violas, alyssum, and more.  Dotted throughout the woodland were elf and fairy houses.  We even saw twig bridges and ladders for the little mystical woodland creatures to cross creeks and climb large stones.  They even had sounds of birds piped in to really give the feel of being in a woodland forest.  My girls were tickled with the magic that was created.  My oldest exclaimed, "I want to live here!"  Notably, many of the houses were for sale.  I wonder how much they cost?

Isn't it truly magical?  Even Mom and Dad enjoyed the show.  The burst of color from the flowers, adorable fairy and elf houses, the warmth of the air, the sounds of birds and the water made for a gorgeous show!

More about the show and Krohn Conservatory:

The show is designed by Josh Hill (a horticulturist at Krohn), John DeVore (DeVore's Land and Water Gardens) and Lee Baker DeVore (artist and creator of the elf and fairy houses).
