Sure enough, not only did my kids get colds, one ended up with the flu. Yep, coughing, stuffy nose and congestion. I broke out the Children's Mucinex Multi-Symptom Cold formula. The kids took it with no problems. Sometimes they complain that medicines taste bad--they never would have survived when I was a child and attempts at flavoring meds were feeble, at best--and that is when you were even lucky to get a flavored one. But like I said, no complaints on taste.
The results were very good. Although they weren't miraculously well, they definitely had a reduction in symptoms and were breathing easier and coughing less. This allowed them more restful sleep which led to overall feeling better.
That being said, I personally would prefer the Mucinex Chest Congestion product that contains just Guaifenesin to break up congestion. The reason is that I don't like the drug Dextromethorphan that is in most cough syrups as I personally have side effects from it. However, I didn't notice any side effects in my children, but still would prefer to stick with honey to treat their coughs. NOTE: THIS MEDICATION IS NOT INTENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 4 YEARS OF AGE!
