A Great Place to Eat--Fredrick's Cafe, Corydon IN @VisitIndiana

Fredrick's Cafe Corydon, IN

While camping in Corydon, Indiana, we sought out a local cafe for breakfast.  Fredrick's Cafe, currently located in the square in charming historic downtown Corydon, is a small, independently owned restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. They feature homemade breads and hospitality!

The restaurant itself was a typical, small restaurant with booths and tables.  Nothing fancy, but has small hometown comfort.    The owner did tell us that they would be moving soon to a larger place on the corner of Walnut and Capitol.  We drove by the building--it will definitely be nicer with large, airy windows.  In addition, they hope to start serving dinner in the new place.

My family enjoyed omelets, homemade biscuits with sausage gravy, hash browns and pancakes.  All of our meals were excellent!  The biscuits and gravy were just as they should be and definitely made from scratch.  The pancakes were as big as your head and nice and thick.  One pancake filled the plate and is enough for one person.  The omelets were tasty and had ample amounts of meats, cheese and other toppings.  The wheat toast was heavenly--fluffy and airy with a hint of sweetness.

The restaurant definitely had small town charm.  The waitresses were super-friendly and it was very obvious they enjoyed working there.  We were well attended to by numerous people.  We actually ate there twice and on our second visit, the waitress recognized us and warmly greeted us like we were friends.  Eating there twice, I started to feel like a regular.

Prices were reasonable, service wonderful and food delicious!  What more could you want?
