Eco Nuts Laundry Products

I had heard about Eco Nuts a while back but hadn't jumped in to try them yet.  However, I wish I would have jumped on it when I first read about it because I LOVE them!

Eco Nuts Soap Nuts are a Himalayan berry that produces a natural soap called saporin.  I could give you the science about how it works, but you probably don't really care and are more interested in does it work and how well it works.  Basically, you add 4-5 little berries (about the size of a large acorn) to a little reusable wash bag and toss it in the laundry.  They clean by lifting the dirt and stains from the fabric and suspending the dirt in the water that is rinsed away.

It was sort of strange when I put them in as I didn't see any bubbles.  However, my laundry came out clean and fresh and soft!  They are also a natural fabric softener.  I put these nuts to the test--kids clothing from hiking and playing in the yard, bath towels and my husband's dreaded workout clothing.  That really put it to the test because hubs works out before he goes to work and his stinky workout gear sits all day in a hot car.  In fact, when he brings it home, it goes outside till I can launder it.  But Eco Nuts met that challenge with no problems.

The beauty of Eco Nuts is that they are:
  • 100% Natural
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Fragrance Free
  • Non-Toxic
  • Kills Odors
  • Nut Allergy Safe
  • Certified USDA Organic
  • Compatible with regular or HE Machines
  • Softens and fluffs naturally--no need for fabric softener!
  • Packaging is biodegradable
  • Safe for septic and gray water systems
  • Sterilize
  • Safe for cloth diapers
  • Affordable--as low as 9¢ per load!
This stuff is getting national recognition, too and has received many awards.

As I said before, I love these things!  You basically use the nuts in the little bag till they crumble up.  The only problem I had with them was remembering not to toss them in the dryer with the load of towels.  It didn't seem to hurt their effectiveness even though I did.

You’ve got me hooked. I want to find out for myself how well these work. Yours is the second review I’ve read, but by far the best review. I’ve been using a natural detergent I found, and have made my own and I love both alternatives. They cost less, are all natural and leave my clothes free of fragrance, much cleaner than I feel the name brand detergents did, and I use wool balls in the dryer. I want to do what is absolutely best for my family!
