Emery's Ice Cream--A Taste of Nostalgia (Corydon, Indiana) @VisitIndiana #Indiana

Looking for old time ice cream and candy shop?  Then definitely check out Emery's Ice Cream in Corydon, Indiana.  This nostalgic soda shop takes you back to a time of happy days and has been a Southern Indiana tradition since 1937.

An ice cream counter with metal stools lines one side of the shop and baskets full of 10¢ and up candies line the other side.  I found many of the candies I grew up with:  Mary Jane, Chick-o-Stick, Bazooka gum, and the cigarette sticks (boy times have changed for the better on that one).  They even had a Coca Cola cooler with bottled sodas, many old-fashioned, such as NeHi and Stewarts.

The ice cream counter was serviced by a friendly and knowledgeable server who made it a point to please the customers.  Sundaes, malts, floats, cones--you name it and it was yours.

The shop itself was immaculate.  It was adorned with tons collectable characters and cartoon figurines and vintage posters and artwork.  I would hate to be the one dusting that place, but whoever does, does an excellent job.

We really enjoyed this trip!  Can't you tell from the girl's faces?
