#Giveaway: 1-Year Subscription to Sisterhood Magazine

November-December 2013

Are you looking for a magazine with positive messages for your teens?  I was happy to review this magazine in exchange for a complimentary year subscription.  Read on to learn more.

I have two daughters, the eldest a tween.  It won't be but a blink before she is a teen, with the youngest not far behind.  I remember clearly being a teen, having doubts about who I was and trying to figure out how to fit in.  Seems magazines always had a say in what I should look like, what I should wear, how I should act.  Sometimes, these messages weren't bad.  Others were questionable.  But never were they Christ-centered.

I was pleased to see that Sisterhood is a magazine dedicated to female teenagers with a "purpose to lead girls into intimacy with Christ."  It guides teens in developing healthy relationships and a positive self-image.  It features positive entertainment choices for young people.  It encourages teens to keep their focus on Christ and grow in Him.  And the best part? No ads with sexy models telling girls how they should look, what they should wear, what they should buy.  No ads.  None. Period.

Sisterhood is the former Susie magazine, if any of you are familiar with this magazine.  I was not.
I was able to preview the November/December issue of the magazine and really liked it.  This issue featured a story about Holly Starr, an article about mentoring, an article about dealing with disappointment and more.  A regular feature is Dear Susie--reader submitted questions answered by Susie Shellenberger, the magazine's editor.  You can check out a preview of the magazine HERE (note: It takes some time to load).

I can't say enough about this magazine.  It is positive, upbeat and encourages young women to develop their relationship with Christ and to live it fully.  Just what I want for my girls, especially during their teen years.

Right now, readers who subscribe can get $2.00 off of their print subscription rate (regular $26 US and $28 Canada).  Just enter code SAVE2.  This is good through December 20, 2013.

My readers also have a chance to enter to win a 1 year subscription to Sisterhood Magazine.  Simply enter the giveaway below.  This would make someone a nice Christmas present!  Best of luck.

Disclosure:  I will receive a year subscription to Sisterhood Magazine in exchange for this post.

I should have this when my nieces were growing up. It was hard to console them because I couldn't relate.
