Gravity and Grace 2--Yoga for Longevity


Yoga is something I know is good for my body.  Somehow, I have gotten away from it, although I have incorporated some yoga stretches into my general workout.  I figured reviewing a complimentary yoga DVD, Gravity & Grace 2, might help get me back into it.  Especially since Peter Sterios first DVD Gravity & Grace--Yoga for Finding Your Inner Teacher has been credited in the "top 15 yoga videos of all time" by Yoga Journal in 2009.  He has also been invited to teach yoga at the White House as part of the anti-obesity campaign headed by Michele Obama.  I was pretty sure this DVD wouldn't disappoint.

And it definitely didn't.  Broken into 4 sequences, Peter has things on this DVD that I have never experienced.  Some of the stretches were amazing and many times during the video, I found myself thinking this is what I need to be doing for my body.  However, I wouldn't recommend this program for newbies as it is quite challenging.  My experience in yoga consists of taking an actual college course as well as classes at fitness center.  Had I had no experience, I would be completely lost as his moves are not just the basic moves.  A problem I experienced was that often, I felt like he was talking so fast and I had trouble following what I was supposed to do.  I am sure that after I do it a couple times, that will not be a problem.

Also, if you are going to do this DVD, you will need to be prepared with some yoga equipment, including a strap, blocks, sandbags, etc.

I have tried yoga a few times. I dont mind those things that dont require equipment but if it does I shy away from it.
