I am at that point in life when things are really hectic at times. Kids are in sports, clubs and other activities and I work two jobs. So, there are those moment when we need a nutritious quick meal or a snack on the run. I was really happy to learn of a variety of products that Nature Valley has now and want to share my thoughts about them.
- Nature Valley Breakfast Biscuits--These are flat biscuits made with 100% natural whole grain oats. They contain 28 g of whole grain oats in each serving, which is 4 biscuits. I had them for breakfast today along with a bowl of fruit and it filled me up and kept me going. They tasted a little too sweet to me (and I have a sweet tooth), and reading the label, there is 11 grams of sugar. Compare that to a bowl of sweetened cereal, it is probably much less. This is something I do like and will definitely keep on hand. These are available in Blueberry and Honey and run about $3.89 a box (5 pouches).
- Nature Valley Greek Yogurt Protein Bars--I LOVE THESE! They have the right combo of sweetness of the yogurt and fruit combined with crunchy peanuts and almonds. This is a great source of protein--10 grams per serving. They are available in two flavors--Mixed Berry and Strawberry. The price runs about $4.49 a box.
- Nature Valley Protein Granola in Cranberry Almond--This is a bag of loose granola that is perfect to use for cereal, as a topping for yogurt or to just grab a handful to eat. It is an excellent source of protein with 10 grams per serving (1/2 cup) and nearly half the recommended daily allowance of whole grains (at least 22 grams). I wasn't able to try this as it may contain pecans and that is a no-no for me. However, it does come in two other varieties: Oats 'n Honey and Oats 'n Dark Chocolate. I plan to check those out (especially the chocolate one). The price on this also runs around $4.49 a bag.
I do like these products, too, because they don't contain high fructose corn syrup and a lot of other junk. I can feel good about eating these and giving them to my kids. And watch your coupons, seems I see coupons for Nature Valley products quite often. In fact, you can visit their site and print off coupon HERE.
Disclosure: I was provided sample products as shown in the photo in exchange for my honest opinions.
