My kids love art books and we have read a ton of great ones.  However, I have never seen anything of the likes of The Interactive Art Book by Ron Van Der Meer and Frank Whitford.  This is the most uniquie, engaging and interactive art books I have ever seen.  It includes the array of masterpieces along with 25 lift-the-flaps, 12 3-D models and many interactive actiities as well as a removeable art activity book filled with great activities that kids can try at home wth basic materials.

The book focuses on how art is made and each 2 page spread is dedicated to the following topics:

Picturing reality
Light and Color
Pattern and Composition
Stories and Puzzles
Style and Subject

This book is great for school age students ages 8 and up to adults.  Younger kids would enjoy if an adult read and explained with them, but I could see younger kids easily destroying the flaps and models.

If you have a child that is really interested in art and how it is made, this is a great book to explore.

The list price is $27.99 (worth it!) but Amazon has it on sale now for $19.38 with free shipping on orders over $35. (Note: the link below is an affiliate link.)
